The Most Beautiful Place
For me, the most beautiful place in the world is anywhere far away from traffic and city lights, where I can watch the sunset, or listen to the waves on the shore, or see a million stars in the sky. Nature can be very beautiful if we take the time to appreciate it. Write about the most beautiful place to you, even if you've never been there. If you cannot think of a real place, describe an ideal place from your imangination. Then, discuss how we can work together to keep that place beautiful.

Lesson for Monday, 11/24/08 and Tuesday 11/25/08
Hi students!
I am in Michigan, but I am still monitoring your work and everything you finish over these next two days. On Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, your task is to plan, write, edit, revise and publish a writing project. You only have these two days to work, so stay on task! (Go Here for grade level lesson Plans)
Before you begin:
1. Preview these slides (below) together as a class. Refer back to these slides as you write your paper.
2. Do your first draft in section two of your notebook.
3. With a teacher's help, Edit and Revise your draft until you are satisfied with it.
4. Use YOUR computer (numbers assigned from last week) to type your final draft in a Word document.

United We Stand...
America has long been known as a "melting pot." This term refers to the diverse population that makes up our nation. People from every race, culture and background come to America to start a new life here, and this has been true throughout our history. One of the greatest things about America is its cultural diversity, but these differences are also the source of many tensions.
Starting in January, our new president will face many challenges, both at home and abroad. Problems with our economy, foreign affairs, American image abroad, the education system, health care, unemployment, and so many other issues face us as a nation, regardless of our political beliefs. In your opinion, what can our president do to bring Americans together to make us stronger as a nation?
