David's Book Review

Captain Underpants
Do want to laugh your pants off? The book CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS is about two boys who turn their principal, Mr. Krupp, into Captain Underpants. As Captain Underpants, the principal fights crime, like super villains! The two boys, George and Harold try to catch him. Read the book to see how it turns out.
I think this book is funny and makes me laugh. In the book, the author includes great pictures and drawings to help tell the story. These comics make the words come alive so you find your self laughing your pants off. The plot and events of the story are very hilarious and entertaining. It’s also full of action.
This book is appropriate for kids ages 8-12. Because it is so funny, anyone who likes funny stories should read it. It is great for reading groups and even the whole class. I highly recommend this hilarious book!

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is about a boy named Greg. He wanted his mom to buy him a journal. He wanted mom both him one but it said Diary on the front. His brother Rodrick kept on beat him up so he could read it. The first day of school he did not want to sit in the middle of two dorks, he wanted to sit in the middle of two girls. At the end he goes over to his friend’s house to play his Nintendo. Every time his friend lost he acts like a mannequin.
This book is so funny that water is going to come out of your nose! It’s awesome because the whole family is so, so, so crazy. I think everyone will love this book. I recommend you to get every single one. This book is written like a real diary with drawings included. So its easier to read and more fun then a long novel.
I will recommend kids ages, 8-11 to read it. It is comedy and it has a lot of pictures. My favorite part is when his mom buys him a journal and every one is bulling him. This book changed my entire life. Every time I am reading another book I cant concentrate because its too funny.

hatchet by maria

What would you do if you were stuck in the woods without water, food, shelter; would you survive? That is what happened to Brian Robeson in Hatchet. Brian is a 13-year-old boy whose parents are divorced. He is going on an airplane trip to visit his dad, but forgets to remove the hatchet hi mom got him. When he’s on the plane, the pilot has a heart attack and dies. The plane crashes and Brian is the only survivor. The airplane crashes up in the woods up in the mountains. Will he die before getting rescued?
I really liked this book because it was funny, sad, happy, and serious. I also liked the book because it has really good details. For example, I can imagine me inside the book. I could also imagine me being by my self in the woods, trying to survive.
I recommend this book to 5th- 8th graders, just because they’ll understand it better. I also recommend this book to people who like survivalist books or wilderness books. Hatchet is an awesome book. Gary Paulsen, (the author) is a genius. Read it to find out if Brian survives!

Colorado's Crazy Climate!

Today we are talking about the regions of Colorado and some of the weird weather conditions experienced in each of these regions. To learn about the Colorado Regions, click here.

We are experiencing quite a cold spell right now in the metro area and across the state. During times of such chilly weather, minimal sunshine, and a below zero wind chill factor, we tend to spend as little time outside as possible. We are happy to get inside and out of the cold!

But what about people who don't have a warm place to go? Homeless people often take refuge in shelters, churches, or other places open to the public to escape the worst of the cold weather. But as residents of this chilly region, what can we do to help those who are less fortunate than us during these difficult times? How can we support those in our community who are cold, hungry, and have no place to sleep at night, when the temperatures are at their lowest?

Respond with a comment that talks about what YOU can do to help the homeless and hungry in your community.
