hatchet by maria

What would you do if you were stuck in the woods without water, food, shelter; would you survive? That is what happened to Brian Robeson in Hatchet. Brian is a 13-year-old boy whose parents are divorced. He is going on an airplane trip to visit his dad, but forgets to remove the hatchet hi mom got him. When he’s on the plane, the pilot has a heart attack and dies. The plane crashes and Brian is the only survivor. The airplane crashes up in the woods up in the mountains. Will he die before getting rescued?
I really liked this book because it was funny, sad, happy, and serious. I also liked the book because it has really good details. For example, I can imagine me inside the book. I could also imagine me being by my self in the woods, trying to survive.
I recommend this book to 5th- 8th graders, just because they’ll understand it better. I also recommend this book to people who like survivalist books or wilderness books. Hatchet is an awesome book. Gary Paulsen, (the author) is a genius. Read it to find out if Brian survives!
